Siding Repair & Restoration

Water damage and rot repair that finds the leak and rebuilds the wall

Soft, stained or peeling siding is usually a sign of water getting in. Fixing the siding without fixing the water just hides the problem.

Water Damage & Rot Repair

Rot starts where water gets in and cannot get out: behind a missing piece of flashing, around a leaky window, under a failed caulk joint, at the base of a wall where gutters overflow or soil is piled against the siding. Because the damage starts behind the siding, it is often larger than it looks from outside.

We repair water-damaged walls across Nashville and Middle Tennessee. We open the area, probe with a moisture meter to find the full extent, remove rotted siding, trim and sheathing, correct the source of the water, rebuild with sound materials and make the new work blend with the old.

FAQ

Common questions about water damage & rot

How do I know if my siding has rot?

Soft spots when pressed, crumbling edges, dark stains and peeling paint are warning signs. A moisture meter finds hidden problems.

Can rotted siding be painted over?

No. Paint hides rot but does not stop it. The damaged material has to be replaced.

Why did my siding rot in the first place?

Usually from failed flashing, leaks at openings, clogged gutters or soil and mulch against the wall. We identify the cause during repair.
