Metal siding comes in standing-seam, board-and-batten, corrugated and lap profiles in steel and aluminum. It does not rot, resists insects and fire, sheds snow and rain and can be finished in factory baked-on colors. The installation challenges are different from other siding: panels must be cut and trimmed precisely, fasteners must allow for thermal movement and cut edges and penetrations must be sealed.
