Engineered wood siding is made from wood strands or fibers bonded with resins and treated against moisture, rot and insects. It looks like wood, carries a real grain texture, cuts and nails much like lumber and is available in lap, panel, board-and-batten and trim profiles. Like all wood-based products, it needs sealed edges and good flashing to stay dry.
We install engineered wood siding across Nashville and Middle Tennessee, following the manufacturer's rules for clearance from the ground, gaps at joints, fastener placement and edge sealing. A good paint or stain finish, applied on schedule, is part of the long-term plan.
