Board-and-batten siding uses wide vertical boards with narrow strips, called battens, covering the joints. The look is crisp, shadowed and tall, and it works as an all-over siding or as an accent on gables and porches. The spacing of boards and battens has to be exact, or the lines drift visibly across a wall.
We install board-and-batten siding across Nashville and Middle Tennessee in several materials, including fiber cement, vinyl, engineered wood and wood. We snap level layout lines, check them against the openings and use a consistent batten pattern so the vertical rhythm stays true across the wall.
